This is how the ElectrIQ smart charging system works with sequential charging

This battery safe charges in smart steps thanks to the ElectrIQ charging system. It starts with one level and only switches to the next when the first group of batteries is fully charged. This doesn’t happen at fixed times but based on the actual charge level. How this works is explained in the section How many chargers fit on one level?

  • One level of batteries charges simultaneously, up to a maximum of 16A

  • Batteries full? Then it automatically switches to the next level

  • Fully charged batteries on hand during working hours – ideal during busy times

At the Dutch bicycle retailer BikeTotaal, all e-bike and power tool batteries are placed in the safe at the end of the day. The next morning, everything is fully charged and ready to go.

The ElectrIQ charging system steps in before things go wrong

With this battery safe, power is automatically distributed across all chargers – even when you’re charging multiple batteries at once. This prevents any risk of overload, and the battery safe always stays on. Charging continues without interruptions.

How many chargers fit on one level? Here’s how to calculate it

On the label of each charger, the amperage is indicated, for example, 2A or 3.5A. By adding these values, you can quickly determine how many chargers you can connect to one level with 5 sockets.

Suppose you have chargers of 2A + 3A + 2.5A + 3.5A + 4A = exactly 16A. That fits perfectly on one level.

Note

In practice, you often stay well below this limit. E-bike battery chargers typically draw a maximum of 2A, and those for tools often range between 2 and 5A.
