ElectrIQ: safe charging without modifying your distribution board
ElectrIQ is the intelligent charging system built into Batteryguard battery safes. It controls the charging process automatically, so you can charge multiple batteries at once without tripping circuits in your distribution board.
ElectrIQ smart charging does the following:
- automatically distributes the available power across all chargers (load balancing)
- charges batteries either continuously or sequentially in groups, depending on the model
- keeps the total load within safe limits, without changes to your distribution board
- allows charging day and night, so you start every shift with fully charged batteries
What happens if a battery catches fire inside a Batteryguard battery cabinet?
You’re at work, your batteries are charging inside the safe – and suddenly an alarm sounds. A clear signal that something is wrong. A battery is overheating, or perhaps already on fire. Because the safe remains closed, the fire is safely contained and cannot spread. This gives you enough time to warn staff and emergency services.
If it happens outside working hours and the cabinet is connected to a fire alarm system, the control room immediately alerts emergency services – allowing for rapid response. Want to learn more about the risks of lithium-ion batteries? Then continue reading on our battery fire information page.
To prevent incidents like these, it’s important to be well-informed about the right precautions. With our risk check, you’ll get insight into your risks in under a minute and receive tips to improve safety.

“Fortunately, the fire stayed mostly inside the cabinet – almost nothing spread outside.”

Safety and ease of use with Batteryguard battery cabinets
In many organisations several people work with batteries. That’s why a battery cabinet must not only be safe, but also easy to use.
With a Batteryguard battery cabinet the process is always the same for everyone: you place the battery in the safe, connect it to the charger, close the door and the batteries charge safely. That’s all you need to do.
If the door is ever left open, the battery safe warns you with a clear alarm signal. You or a colleague closes the door and the safe takes care of the rest. This way you work safely with batteries, even when many different people use the battery safe.
